But mind you, this is not a fictional story. This is the story which all of us are witnessing live. And seeing this, lots of youngsters are motivated and get ignited by the ray of hope.

“Yashasvi Jaiswal” - An Eye- ‘Opener’

Born on December 28, 2001, in Suriyawan, Uttar Pradesh, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s journey in cricket is marked by self-belief and hard work. As discussed earlier, for this young lad, life was never so easy. Right from living in a tent, to selling pani-puri for his survival, this young lad has seen all kinds of difficulties.

Jaiswal’s cricket journey started from Mumbai and he came into news in the year 2015, when he scored unbeaten 319 in Giles Shield match where he also took 13 wickets in the same match. The result of this all-round performance was that he got selected in the Mumbai under-16 team and after that into the National under-19 team.

Here, he proved his mettle by becoming the highest run scorer scoring a mammoth 318 runs and thus crowned as the player of the tournament in Under-19 Asia Cup.

His hunger for success and hard work was such that he didn’t stop at this milestone but went ahead and played a Youth Test Match in 2019 against South Africa. Here also, he bludgeoned a quick fire 173 runs of 220 balls.

Later that year, in December 2019, he was named as one of the members of the Indian Under-19 World Cup squad and thus, Jaiswal for the first time was all set to play for India in a world cup.

Jaiswal grabbed this opportunity by both hands and ended up being the leading run scorer which includes a scintillating ton against Pakistan U-19 team and that too in semi-finals.

Now let us talk about Jaiswal’s IPL journey which made him everyone’s apple of eye and gave him recognition in an international arena.

When he was selected in the India B team for the 2019-20 Deodhar Trophy, that opened the gate for Jaiswal for IPL entry as well. It was the year 2020 when in an IPL auction he was bought by the first champion of IPL, i.e. Rajasthan Royals and thus his T20 cricket journey commenced on 22 Sep 2020.

From there onwards, this lad became the talk of the town and with his sheer dedication, skill and hunger for runs, became everyone’s apple of the eye.

In one of the old interviews of Sachin Tendulkar he said a very inspiring line for every young sportsman dreaming to represent his/her country at the highest level. Those golden words were, “In the path of success, many will throw stones at you. But with your hard work, dedication, focus and practise you have to turn those stones into milestones”.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has proved these lines and see, today he has achieved what he always wanted.

From a pani-puri seller to one of the youngest cricketing millionaire, Jaiswal’s life has taken a full circle and thus he becomes the role model for all those people who believes in hard work, dedication and perseverance and thus proves the point that, ‘ Mehnat Se Life mein Kuchh Bhi Ho Sakta Hai’.

With this, we come to the end of this article. We wish this rising star the very best of luck.
